URG 2009-2010: Call for Proposal - APPLICATION PERIOD EXTENDED TO SEPTEMBER 19, 2009
The Science and Technology Advisory Council –Japan announces the availability of two (2) research grants to undergraduate students for the academic year 2009-2010. Each grant of 25,000 pesos will be awarded to a team of graduating students with a team of 2-4 members. Interested students are required to submit a full research proposal for consideration and approval of STAC-J. Research topics that will be considered for the grant should be related to the objective of STAC-J which is science and technology as a tool for Philippine development.

STAJ's Tuloy Aral Center-Kompyuter (TAC-K) now accepting applicants for 2008! |

The Science and Technology Advisory Council-Japan Chapter (STAC-J) announces the opening of the 19th Tuloy Aral Center-Kompyuter (TAC-K) starting March of this year.
This project is an on-going literacy program of the Science and Technology Advisory Council-Japan Chapter (STAC-J) which aims to provide training in computer technology to Filipino migrants here in Japan. TAC-K offers short term courses on Basic Computer and Internet, Spreadsheet and Database, Web Page Design and Authoring and Hardware, all given by Filipino S and T professionals and students experienced in IT.

STACJ supports commercial mushroom production in the Philippines |

The Science and Technology Advisory Council-Japan Chapter (STAC-J) has funded a training program on commercial mushroom production together with the Central Luzon State University-Center for Tropical Mushroom Research and Development.
This program was among the few undertaken by the institute that is pushing for the commercialization of mushroom production in the country according to an article in the April 2007 issue of Agriculture magazine featuring Dr. Renato Reyes, STACJ member and a Tokyo University of Agriculture alumnus.
